THE PROBE
Season One
In an effort to uncover where corruption in American politics starts, The Probe goes deep inside an average high school student body presidential election. Listen as hosts Lisa Burton and Mary Beth Smith meet the candidates and their families, speculate on their motives for running, and unmask all the nasty aspects of running for office at any level.
Episode 5
With only one week left before the debate, The Probe takes on the biggest buffoon in the room, Thomas Buffington, Jr. The Buffington family has been influential in Indiana politics and business for decades, and like any family with such influence and history, there are skeletons in their closet. We'll delve deep into the bizarre and contradictory Buffington family. Do the Buffingtons live in a haunted mansion? What is the right age to show a child your face for the first time? How expensive is a sandwich really?

Episode 3:
During week two of what feels like a never-ending election cycle, The Probe team does more work in the field learning about the candidates and their motivations. This week: The anti-establishment outsider. Who is Cori Wilson? What about her upbringing made her want to run for student body president? Was it her biographer father? Her food scientist mother? One of her more nefarious classmates? Why does she seem to care so much more about the X Games than the Winter Olympics? The Probe leaves no stone unturned.

Episode Two:
As the four candidates in the FDRHS presidential election gear up for week one of their campaigns, The Probe team goes deep into what influences their decisions and platforms. While a lot of time is spent unpacking the beige, malleable oddball August Tooley-Anderson in the form of an interview with him and his parents, the real fun starts when Lisa and Mary Beth review early campaign tactics and social media interactions between students and their options for president. Who is the early front-runner when it comes to resources? What do a candidate's influencers tell us about their ability to lead? Why is Ladysmith Black Mumbazo so calming?
